Communications Interns
Communications Interns work closely with the Communications and Development Manager, to help get the word out about our services via social media, public awareness campaigns, and distribution of educational materials. The intern will also help with newsletters, email blasts, mailings, written appeals, and other duties as assigned.
Community Education Interns
Community Education Interns assist our Community Educator in preparing materials for workshops on healthy relationships and teen dating violence. Workshops are delivered to youth and youth-serving professionals throughout New York City. On a daily basis, Interns assist with curriculum development, participant surveys, data entry, tabling events, and promoting Day One workshops.
Development and Event Interns
Development and Special Event Interns work closely with the Development Manager. Tasks include assisting with foundation prospect research, fundraising event planning, database updates, and additional resource development.
HR, Culture, and Operations Interns
HR, Culture, and Operations interns support the activities of the Administration Team while learning about human resources administration for a small non-profit organization. This position works under the supervision of the HR and Operations Coordinator, and in partnership with various office committees such as the Employee Sustainability Committee and the Good Times Committee to support office events and cultivate an amazing office culture at Day One.
Legal Services Interns
Legal Services Interns work alongside Day One’s Supervising Attorney to litigate cases involving; obtaining orders of protection, custody and visitation, immigration, housing, and school advocacy. Interns also conduct research on legal precedents related to teenagers, dating violence, and technology abuse.
