Day One builds leadership through a healthy relationships and dating violence prevention curriculum, facilitation/public speaking training, weekly open discussion, interactive campaign planning/activism, community building, and educational trips. Our goal is to provide high school students with the tools and resources to be champions of healthy relationships and leaders in dating violence prevention in schools.

Youth to Youth is a year long after-school club with opportunities for the participating students to develop and launch awareness campaigns in their school. Youth to Youth leaders receive ten workshops from Day One that focuses on the roots of dating abuse, healthy relationship skills, LGBTQ+ youth, sexual violence prevention, and more. Day One staff support participants in building awareness and bringing information to their peers with hosting events, participating in youth conferences, facilitating workshops for peers and more!

Youth to Youth members also have the opportunity to participate in our 7 week summer program. Students will engage in deeper education about organizing, advocacy, and build skills to lead the club in the following school year.

Students will complete the program with a shared understanding of healthy relationships and intimate partner violence, knowledge of how recognize and intervene in intimate partner violence in their communities, and opportunities to lead their peers in trainings, awareness, and campaigns.
