It includes information like tightening your seatbelt, and that smoking is not allowed in the cabin, but there’s also a less intuitive warning. If you ever need to put your oxygen mask on during the flight, you must put your mask on first before you can help others with theirs. Most people are compelled to help when you see someone struggling, but you can’t help anyone if you’ve fainted from a lack of oxygen yourself.

How To Break Up

The Reverse Psychology”You’re not breaking up with them, they’re breaking up with you. This could mean creating an environment where you make the relationship not viable for the other person. Maybe you are suddenly messy when you know your partner likes cleanliness, or you’re suddenly mean, or high maintenance, or whatever makes the situation worse. If your partner loves Harry Potter, you now hate it. It’s about putting off the blame, and instead of facing your problem, you chose to let someone else deal with it.

Gun Violence And Domestic Violence: A Close Connection

With recent news, it’s pretty hard to ignore the spike in gun violence that is occuring in the United States. In back-to-back shootings on August 3rd and 4th, a mere 13 hours apart, 84 people were shot and 31 people were killed in El Paso and Dayton. Both travesties are considered domestic terrorism. Between August 4th and September 4th, an additional 41 people died in mass shootings.

Victim To Victor: Day One Client And Youth Voices Network Member Samantha Taylor Shares Her Story

When Samantha was 22 years old, she was referred to Day One by a partner organization. Through our counseling and direct services, we helped her leave her abusive relationship and land on her feet. Today, she is a life coach, advocate, and soon to be published author. In honor of the upcoming release of Victim to Victor, we are sharing a short Q&A with Samantha as well as an excerpt from the book’s introduction.
